It’s not easy to capture singer/accordion-player Bessie Wapp’s wide-ranging musical tastes in one ensemble but anything’s possible with the fantastic players she’s gathered!

Kiyo Elkuf (sax/bg vocals), Jesse Lee (bass/bg vocals), and Marvin Walker (drums/bg vocals) are highly talented musicians with extensive international touring experience to bring to Bessie’s folk, blues, singer/ songwriter, traditional Eastern European, and jazz repertoire.

Named Nelson’s Cultural Ambassador for 2015, Bessie is a seasoned performer known for touching hearts and getting toes tapping. She has performed extensively throughout North America and in Europe at such venues as The Kennedy Centre (NYC), Zagreb Danceweek (Croatia), and Festival D’été (Montreal). Last spring she starred in Black Productions’ highly acclaimed “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.”

But for Bessie the special thing about this particular ensemble is that the whole band sings harmonies. “Many voices singing together is truly a magical thing – especially these men who sing with such tenderness. It fills my heart to the brim.”
Don’t miss what promises to be an extraordinary evening of music!
