Allan Merovitz will perform at the Gallery on December 8th

The Silverton Gallery proudly presents our Second Annual Hannukah Show with special guest artist, Allan Merovitz.

We are thrilled to have  Allan Merovitz join us for an evening of Hannukah enchantment.  Mr. Merovitz is one of Canada’s most beloved Klezmer artists, a well known storyteller, actor and playwright.  

This family event promises holiday stories, songs and dance.  

Get ready for some serious entertainment, and don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes!

You are welcome to bring your own Hanukkiah and candles to help welcome the first night of Hanukkah!

 Allan Merovitz  is an accomplished singer as well as an actor and storyteller. He has recorded and toured North America and Europe with top klezmer and yiddish ensembles:  Toronto’s Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band, Ot Azoj from Amsterdam,  Simcha Klezmer Ensemble, with Martin van de Ven, Sasha Luminski and Monique Lansdorp. His musical play If Cows Could Fly (an Artword Theatre production directed by Ronald Weihs), has been remounted several time, most recently at Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre in Ottawa and at Ashkenaz Festival in 2008. 

Allan is recognized as a “Keeper of Memories” in communities that have experienced his in-depth knowledge of Jewish stories such as Fairytales, Wondertales, Traditional Religious Allegory, Legends, Folktales, Humorous, Supernatural. What Allan brings alive in these performances is the universal human quality that connects all people and cultures in the grand family of humans on this fragile Earth.  Allan recently participated in Peace Project in Israel (a collaboration of Christian, Muslim and Jewish artists).  Allan’s website:
